In a collaboration with the Penfold Press Clive Hicks-Jenkins has produced a sequence of fourteen original screen prints inspired by Simon Armitage's acclaimed translation of the medieval verse drama Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
Each print is inspired by the text and rooted stylistically in its world, but beyond that Clive has allowed his imagination free reign.
"What I particularly respond to in Clive’s works are the way that he has his own vision. These are not simply backcloths or illustrations or visual subtitles to the poem, he's made his own visions of what is in itself a visionary poem." - Simon Armitage
